Hi Jacksons
I’m so pleased with my garden aviary built entirely from your products, I thought I would send pictures of it to your customer projects to see if you would like to use my story for other customers to see.
It was built from 28 of 75mm x 3m fencing stakes, these were used full length for the roof - the points fitted neatly together in the centre of the posts. The side rails were trimmed to size.
Ingeniously we used the pieces that were trimmed off as the bracing. The kick board at the bottom was 12 pieces of standard decking. Other leftover bits were used to build a safety porch. I fixed an old shed I already had to the back, and it was all finished just in time to transfer the birds from the old aviary before the freezing weather and snow set in, (which was a huge relief as the old one was about 25 years old and was very dilapidated, it had been repaired many times and was on the point of collapse).

The inhabitants were a population of zebra finches descended from the original three pairs of common zebra finches, they have been breeding ever since, and different colours have started to appear; common fawn, white and piebald ones. I had no idea how many I had until I went to make the transfer to the new aviary. There were more than 30!
Just one day after they were all safe in the new aviary we had heavy snow and the weight of it on the roof caused the old aviary to fall in. I managed to salvage all the old nest baskets and boxes to make them feel at home, and included some new ones. I also put a quantity of straw and feathers in there, and I was amazed that after only a couple of days, not only had they lined out the baskets with feathers, but home-built nests had been constructed in the branches of the shrubs I had planted in there. The smart new Jacksons style aviary is definitely a success with the little finches, and with me too!
When I realised I would need to build a new aviary I had started looking around for materials and saw Jackson fencing in the yellow pages - "fencing with a guarantee" caught my eye and I visited the yard at Stowting Common. I was very impressed with what I saw there. I asked to look around and had to wear a special reflective coat, and was accompanied by an extremely helpful member of your staff.
I soon found what I wanted. Inside the showroom a very knowledgeable lady discussed things and explained how I could phone in my order, giving me a catalogue. What really decided me was the quality on offer and the 25 year Jakcure guarantee.
I have also sent pics detailing the corner where I left an overhang so I wasn’t nailing too close to the end to avoid the risk of splitting. And I used galvanised nails throughout the build, no point in have good quality timber that lasts for years, if you go and ruin it with nails that will rust, I’ve learned that too! I have also attached pictures of the birds, which I hope your customers will enjoy seeing in their new home.
Best regards
